Troyal Garth Brooks was born February 7, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Garth is the only artist in music history to have released nine albums that were certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. This surpassed The Beatles' former record of six.

Garth has released 23 records since 1989. These include 13 studio albums, two live albums, three compilation albums, three Christmas albums, and four box sets. He has released 77 singles as well.

Due to demands of career and family, Gartch retired from recording and preforming from 2001 to 2005. In 2005 he started a small comeback as he gave select performances and releasing two compilation albums. In 2009 Garth began "Garth at Wynn" which was a periodic weekend concert residency at Las Vegas' Encore Theatre between December 2009 and January 2014. In July 2014 he announced he had signed with Sony Music Nashville. Begining September 2014 and ending in 2017, Garth began his comeback world tour, with his wife and fellow country star Trisha Yearwook.

Garth is one of the world's best-selling music artists as he has sold more than 170 million records. "Billboard" ranked Garth as the greatest male solo artist on the "Billboard" 200 chart of all time.

Awards

Garth has won a record of 22 Academy of Country Music Awards and has been nominated 47 times. He was nominated for Grammy Awards 13 times and has won 2. He has also earned awards from Bilboard Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards and many others as well. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2011, the Country Music Hall of Fame on October 12, 2012 and inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame andMuseum in 2016. In 2020, he became the youngest recipent of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. He has earned awards and nomnations in television and film including the Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. In 2020 Cher presented Garth with the Billboard Icon Award. He was a recipient for the 43rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors in 2021. In 2010 he recieved the "Grammy on the Hill Award" in the Oval office.

Miscellaneous

It was previously announced that Garth would be opening a Bar/Honkytonk downtown Nashville on Broadway. He made sure to build a precinct inside of it for the Nashville Metro Police Department as there are no other close precincts. It has recently been announced that a Dive Bar concert for the opening of his "Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk" (named after one of his most famous songs "Friends in Low Places") would occur on Black Friday, November 24, 2023. This event will be the first opportunity for fans to get into the bar. In order to get tickets is to win them by listening to The Big 615 station on TuneIn.

For his most recent stadium tour, Garth had his own channel on SiriusXM where he played his songs of course, other country music but also musicians he grew up listening to and current musicions regardless of genre that he enjoys. He ended his channel a little after his stadium tour ended. In 2023 he announced he was launching his own internet only radio station called "The BIG 615" on TuneIn. It is somewhat similar to his SiriusXM station but he has live DJs and interviews with musicians on it.
